Horse Camps at HHR are
fun and educational!
Campers get firsthand experience with western riding, outdoor scenic trail riding, grooming, saddling, crafts and games. Campers will not only learn about horses, but will also learn how horses think and how horses can teach each individual. Having fun and being safe while leading, saddling and riding a horse are top priorities. No experience is needed. Ages 6-13 years old.
•Horse behavior and senses •Breeds, colors, and markings •Basic management (types of feed, hay, supplements, watering) •Stable management •How to halter and lead •Parts of the horse •How to groom •Parts of the tack and riding equipment •How to tack your horse •And many more topics!
We also do fun arts and crafts and play games to help reinforce knowledge and concepts. Equestrian campers participate in chores daily such as giving hay and filling water, as well as some stall cleaning.
